Skyrim Sidequest – Uncovering ‘The Forsworn Conspiracy’

small
Another sidequest that you can do in Skyrim is uncovering the Forsworn Conspiracy in the Reach.

Sidequest #2: The Forsworn Conspiracy
To initiate the quest, go to Markrath.

THE FORSWORN CONSPIRACY

forsworn01-890x606

– When you first visit Markrath, you’ll immediately see a scene where a man kills a woman in the market in cold blood.
– Investigate what happens by talking to other traders in the market.
– Eltrys will approach you and give you a note.
– Read it. You now have to go to the Shrine of Talos.

forsworn02-515x289

– Inside the Shrine of Talos, you’ll see Eltrys.
– Talk to him and you’ll learn that there’s a conspiracy going on in Malkrath.
– He’ll give you a task where you have to uncover who’s behind it all.
First Task: Find evidence about Marget
Second Task: Find evidence about Weylin
It doesn’t matter which one you do first

Find Evidence about Margaret

forsworn03-515x289

– Go to Silver-Blood Inn and talk to Kleppr.
– Ask about Marget
– Kleppr will tell you that Marget has a nice room paid off for a month.
– If you have a high Speech Skill, you can persuade him in giving you the key to her room. Otherwise, you can intimidate or bribe him.

forsworn04-515x289

– Inside the room of Marget, look for her Diary.
– Reading her diary, you’ll learn that Thonar Silver-Blood is involved in this conspiracy.
Note: Go report back to Eltrys to get a portion of your gold for having progress in the investigation.
– Go to Thonar’s house.

forsworn05-515x289

– Look for Thonar in the dining room.
– Tell him about Marget and he’ll reveal that he’s been working with the King of the Rugs, who was a former king of the Forsworn.
– Two Forsworn agents working for him in the house will kill Thonar’s wife. Kill the two Forsworn and you’ll uncover the mystery about Marget’s death.
– On your way out from Thonar’s house, Markrath’s Guard will tell you to stop your investigation. Ignore it.

Find Evidence about Weylin

forsworn06-515x289

– Go the Warrens, which is located on the lower section of Markrath.
– Talk to Garvey
– Persuade him in giving you the key to Weylin’s room in the Warrens. If you don’t have a high speech skill, simply bribe him.

forsworn07-515x289

– Inside his room, search the chest. You’ll see a note.
– Read the Note. You now have to investigate who N is.

forsworn08-515x289

– When you leave the Warrens, a forsworn mercenary will approach you.
– He’ll tell you to stop going into the business of the Forsworn and Markrath. He’ll challenge you into a brawl.
– Give him enough punches and he’ll tell you that the “N” in Weylin’s note is Nepos the Nose.
– Now that you know who N is, head to Eltrys to receive your reward.

forsworn09-515x289

– Head to Nepos the Nose’s house which is located on the upper section of Markrath.
– When you go inside, his maid will stop you. Persuade her that Nepos the Nose is expecting you.
– Talk to Nepos and you’ll learn that he’s the one that instructed Weylin into killing Marget. More information will also be revealed about the Forsworn and it’s leader. Madanach, who’s locked up in Cidhna Mine.
– At the end of your conversation with him, you’ll have to fight him and the people inside the house.

REPORT BACK TO ELTRYS

forsworn10-515x289

– Inside the Shrine of Talos, Eltrys has been killed by the Markrath guard.
– Approach the guard and LET THEM TAKE YOU to the Cidhna Mine.

Note: At the end of this quest, you’ll unlock another sidequest that will put an end to this conspiracy. Check our Part 2 on this walkthrough.

Borderlands 2: Gearbox Creates More Problems With Krieg

Gearbox Creates More Problems With Krieg
Borderlands 2 has seen a new and flawed Vault Hunter join the adventure for the ultimate score. Krieg the Psycho is a high risk, high reward character that favors melee fighters (or those that like igniting themselves). Besides costing $9.99, there’s a lot wrong with Krieg, and sadly this isn’t a surprise given Gearbox’s recent track record. Continue reading to find out what problems players are facing while roaming Pandora as Krieg.

Early on in the game, you’ll find yourself in the Three Horns-Valley area. Now, if you enjoy completing challenges and earning Badass Points, you’ll be disappointed to learn that Krieg cannot complete the “This Ain’t My First Rodeo” challenge. Why is this? Well, after attempting it countless times, I joked that it must be a weight issue. Little did I know how right I was. Paul Hellquist, Creative Director and Lead Designer for Krieg, had the following to say when the issue began to appear in the community forums:

This is because we made Krieg’s mass heavier than the other characters. The change was so that many of the enemies (notably the loaders) could not create situations where you could not be effective with Krieg’s action skill because they would knock you back so far that you could not get a hit in on them when you closed to melee range.

The unfortunate side effect is that the impulse on the geyser is not enough to get you up as far when you are playing Krieg. It was a trade well worth making since the entire character was frustrating and unfun before this change.

As you can imagine, many readers were not satisfied with this answer, mainly because the mass increase doesn’t only impact this single challenge. There have been reports that given Krieg’s heavier nature, the “Ever Blow Bubbles…?” challenge tucked within Caustic Caverns is impossible. Furthermore, Krieg’s weight has voided the effect of grenade jumping, a trick usable by the rest of the Vault Hunters. While the latter isn’t all that troublesome, the prevention of certain challenges has irked completionists. Do the character design issues stop there? I wish.

It would seem that Krieg’s size is almost as much an issue as his weight. There have been claims that the psyho’s proportions prevent players from finishing the “Slab UHF” challenge as well. More importantly, Krieg’s hit box is, naturally, assumed to be larger which makes him an easier target for enemies. In addition, one could theorize that this could cause issues when trying to dig out the items that fall underneath The Warrior after the battle, as well as dealing with an increased chance in having flying loot deflect off of Krieg and into areas beyond the player’s reach (ex: lava).

Diving further into the new Vault Hunter we find that his skill tree is also suffering some major inconsistencies. His Action Skill, Buzz Axe Rampage, is supposed to apply 500% bonus melee damage. However, recent videos that have surfaced show that the numbers are way off. Tests have been done with the Rapier, which has a melee bonus of 200%, and somehow that boost manages to deal more damage than the claimed 500% Buzz Axe Rampage skill. In addition, roid shields aren’t stacking as expected when active, or so it has been stated. The result is better melee damage when not using Buzz Axe Rampage. So, what gives? Well, it would seem that the real issue lies within the Action Skill’s description itself. One determined forum poster by the name of Tluav Boy revealed this tidbit about the ongoing debate:

BUZZ AXE RAMPAGE doesn’t add +500% to your Base Melee damage as a bonus.

It simply makes your Base Melee Damage 500% whatever it normally is.

You can see how he came to this conclusion by checking his formulas here. I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that Gearbox actually has messed up one of their formulas though. All of the info flowing out of early Krieg adopters seem to be pointing to one important observation: Zer0 is still the better/stronger melee character. Needless to say, Krieg seems to have angered a lot of fans out there for reasons ranging from his Season Pass exclusion to his substantial mass gain. He’s been such a disappointment to some that it has even been said that Krieg is a bigger letdown than Aliens: Colonial Marines, a true video game tragedy. Ouch!

If you’ve spent some time with the psychotic Vault Hunter, let us know what your current stance on the character is in the comment section below!

Skyrim – Acquiring the Daedric Artifact of the Black or Azura’s Star

Click here for more Skyrim Guides
Dragonborns who are seeking powerful artifacts that they can use for their equipments can find the sixteen Daedric Artifacts that are scattered throughout the game.

Each of the artifacts in Skyrim will require you in doing a side mission. While it may sound easy, each of these quests has a requirement in order for you to trigger that quest. Some of the quests that will reward you a Daedric Artifact will require you to be at specific level as some of the bosses you will face will be hard.

Here’s the first artifact that you can get that doesn’t have any prerequisites.

The Azura’s Star

– The first thing that you would need to do to unlock the Azura’s Star quest is to listen to the rumors. A barkeep such as Hulda in Whiterun will give you information on the Shrine of Azura.
– Once you hear the rumor about it, the Shrine of Azura’s location will be on your map. If you don’t like to listen to the rumors, you can simply go there. The Shrine of Azura is located south of Winterhold, near the Mount Anthalor. It’s on the peak of the mountain from Mount Anthalor.

– Now that you’re on top of Azura’s Shrine, you’ll meet a Daedra named Aranea. Talk to her and she’ll mention that she’s been waiting for you. Talking to her will unlock the quest that will begin your hunt for the Azura’s Star.

– Your first mission is to find an elven man named Neclar in the Frozen Hearth Inn in Winterhold. He’s an enchanter and he’ll tell you more about the star.
– Upon talking to him, you’ll learn more about the Azura’s star and will tell you that it’s located in Ilinalta’s Deep.

– The location for the Deep will be on your map. Go there.

– Before you enter the deep, make sure you’re prepared as there are Necromancers and Skeltons waiting to ambush you.

– Inside the deep, there are potions, and other items that you can loot. Don’t forget to take them.

– At the end of this dungeon, you’ll find that the Azura’s Star is broken. Now you’ll have some choices to make…

Want the Azura’s Star or the Black Star

Once you obtained the broken Azura’s Star, you’ll now have to choose whether you like to turn it into a Black Star that recharges using the human souls, or the Azura’s Star where it will recharge by defeating any foes that has a soul.

For the Azura’s Star…

Let Aranea fix it for you.

For the Black Star…

Let Neclar fix it for you.

Face the Boss

Once you pick which one you would like to get in the end, you’ll have to face the boss that’s lurking inside the Star to freely use it.

Inside the Star, you’ll face Malyn. Defeat his minions and eventually kill him to free the star from his curse. Now you can use the Azura’s Star or the Black Star that you get from completing this quest.

Check back with us again soon for the next Daedric Quest guide.

Monster Hunter: World – How to Fight Deviljho and Special Assignment Reward

Earlier today the highly anticipated Monster Hunter: World update released and with it came the fearsome Deviljho. However, like a lot of games, updating to the latest version isn’t all you need to do to find Deviljho. Thankfully, it isn’t hard to unlock, assuming you’ve progressed though most or all of the story first.

Unlocking Deviljho

To unlock Deviljho, simply start an expedition and look for a location with a ??? monster. If one doesn’t appear, simply start one, end it and check again until it appears. Upon finding one, look around until you find Deviljho’s tracks. One is all you should need, though you can ultimately track and kill it if you really want to.

After you’ve completed this, simply return to town and it will unlock him.

How to Get the Special Assignment

For the special assignment mission you’ll need to actually track and bother with Deviljho. If you track it enough you should unlock the quest by talking to the same person that unlocks Deviljho.

As for the assignment, it’s somewhere between a lot of fun and really annoying. Outside of the first bit, which asks you to knock Deviljho as quickly as possible, it’s a straight fight, one that is pretty easy if you have good armor.

After finishing the assignment, speak to the quest giver, read some dialogue and you’ll get the Dragonproof Mantle. This one boosts dragon damage, decreases dragon damage taken and nullifies dragonblight.

A new name has been cast in the 2018 Tomb Raider movie reboot starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. Hannah John-Kamen has been cast as Lara’s best friend.

Deadline reports that Hannah John-Kamen is also starring in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. She has actually been a voice actress for the first two Dark Souls video games and has appeared in Game of Thrones and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Not a lot has been said about her character in the new Tomb Raider movie. She just serves as a friend and flatmate to Lara Croft in the reboot.

Ghost Recon Wildlands pays homage to Ghost Recon Future Soldier in two-part special mission

Ubisoft is pleased to announce today that Ghost Recon Wildlands will introduce a free Ghost Recon Future Soldier – themed special mission featuring iconic characters Scott Mitchell and John Kozak as part of Special Operations 3.

In the third major update for the game’s year 2 content, players will be able to team up with Mitchell and Kozaka for this free two-part special crossover starting today, December 11, across all platorms.

Here’s an overview of the new content:

Exclusive Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Future Soldier–themed content will be introduced to the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands main campaign and PvP mode, including two new Future Soldier–inspired Ghost War PvP classes and a PvE mission, Operation Silent Spade. In Operation Silent Spade, Ghost Leader Scott Mitchell calls on Nomad and his team to help rookie John Kozak investigate a plot that links the Santa Blanca Cartel to a nuclear threat. The special challenge is playable solo or with up to four players in co-op.

Upon completing Operation Silent Spade, players will be rewarded with the Optical Camo Backpack, perfect for a stealth approach. In addition to the rewards for completing the challenge, players can further customize and arm their Ghosts with the Silent Spade Pack, which include a weapon and new customization items.

Special Operation 3 will also bring two new Ghost War PvP classes, Vanguard and Sharpshooter, inspired by Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Future Soldier characters. Vanguard uses sensor grenades to uncover and highlight hidden enemies in the area of effect to his team, while Sharpshooter charges his shots by using his Long Range Specialist ability, which at a full charge enables him to negate the effects of sway and bullet drop. In addition to two new classes, this update will also contain two new PvP maps, Lithium Mine and Outskirts.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands Year 2 Pass offers seven-day early access to the two new Ghost War classes starting December 11, along with one exclusive customization pack. Non-owners of the Year 2 Pass will be able to access the new Ghost War classes starting December 18.

PC players wanting to share the experience with friends can gain Battle Crate rewards including Spec Ops and Ghost War Crates, via the PC Referral Program from December 11 – February 11, 2019. Invited friends who purchase the game will also receive Battle Crate rewards, including one Ghost War Crate and One Spec Ops Crate. The more friends players invite, the more rewards they will receive.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 will continue to expand the Ghost Recon universe with free major Special Operation updates, each featuring a unique theme, updates to the PvE campaign with free special content and special challenges with exclusive rewards, community-requested features and updates for the Ghost War 4v4 PvP experience. The development team is committed to supporting the game with free new content and improvements to the core experience.
