Ni No Kuni II is the closest to Suikoden you’ll ever get

It’s been over a decade since Konami has released Suikoden V and since then, many fans are really getting antsy to know if there will be a sequel to the much beloved series. With Konami being quiet for over a decade, many assumed that the series was dead while many hoped that there will be a developer going to pick up that series. While fans of the Suikoden series are waiting patiently, there’s this game upcoming game called Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch from Level-5 that pretty much resembles the gameplay of the Suikoden series.

After spending this past week playing Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, I have concluded that this game is the closest Suikoden fans will ever get to a spiritual successor. From its storyline to the kingdom building, everything that fans love about Konami’s series are all in the game, but then Ni No Kuni II has a lot of things that sets the series apart with Suikoden, which is a good thing.

Without spoiling anything, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is about the coming of age of Evan, a young king who is obliged to create his own kingdom after getting booted out from his own in Ding Dong Dell. Evan will get his own kingdom to build about six hours into the game. Once Evan has his own kingdom, players will be able to access the game’s town management system where you will be establishing various shops, assign citizens that you recruit in a shop, do research to get items that you can buy in the shop and other things that might be useful for the kingdom.

Aside from going through the fun-filled story the game has to offer, players will be spending most of their time making sure that their Kingdom is flourishing as players will be obliged to keep checking them for new things to research, gather items, and so much more. At some point, players will be upgrading the Kingdom to a much bigger one using the kingsguilding currency that you rack up for simply having citizens working for you in your kingdom. Pretty much, players will have to think carefully where to assign citizens as the kingdom’s success will depend on them, especially if you want to upgrade various things in the kingdom.

To get the citizens that should work for your kingdom, you will find a lot of recruitable ones. Similar to Suikoden, each citizen that you get to recruit will have a special part in your kingdom and some will require you to do certain sidequests. Some are hard but others will simply just join you by talking to them. There are characters that you meet along the story will be part of your kingdom while others will really task you in searching the world to get the citizen you need, which is fun as each character has its own story to tell.

In addition to the kingdom building and recruiting citizens that players will be doing in the game, there’s also that skirmish mode segment that puts two factions in an birds-eye view fight. Fans of Suikoden who played the first two games should be familiar to the skirmish mode that Ni No Kuni II has to offer. It’s not that in-depth but the similarity is quite close where you put units in your faction and you fight others in a strategy-like game.

In the end, fans who are looking for a quick fix on Suikoden should definitely consider Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. It’s no way exact clone of Suikoden but it’s really the closest Suikoden game you will ever get. Check back with us on March 19, 2018 for our review of the game.

Monster Hunter: World – Mantle, Booster and Pigment Unlock Guide

One of the best and worst things about games like Monster Hunter: World is trying to find time to unlock it all. There is always going to be an opportunity cost, be it chasing after specific armor, HR, palico upgrades, trophies, features and oh so much more. Team Liquid Wins The International 2017 Dota 2 Event

Liquid was the Dota 2 pro team to come out on top at The Internation 7, the biggest esporting event in history.

The yearly event saw teams from around the world battling it out for a slice of the colossal prize pool of $23 million, the majority of which came from gamers. The top team, Liquid, won in fine style becoming the first team to 3 – 0 an opponent in the Grand Final, to take home the $10.8 million top prize.

There were some incredible plays by Liquid, whom had to fight through part of the lower bracket to get to the final. Going into the third and final final game of the best of five, they had somewhat walked the first two. However, Newbee seemed to be in a dominant position for much of the third game until a team fight at Roshan, where Juggernaut not only just survive but start slashing crits, swung the experience and gold charts firmly in Liquid’s favour.

Valve was not done with the entertainment quite then though. To cap the night off they revealed two new Dota 2 heroes:

Ghost Recon Wildlands pays homage to Ghost Recon Future Soldier in two-part special mission

Ubisoft is pleased to announce today that Ghost Recon Wildlands will introduce a free Ghost Recon Future Soldier – themed special mission featuring iconic characters Scott Mitchell and John Kozak as part of Special Operations 3.

In the third major update for the game’s year 2 content, players will be able to team up with Mitchell and Kozaka for this free two-part special crossover starting today, December 11, across all platorms.

Here’s an overview of the new content:

Exclusive Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Future Soldier–themed content will be introduced to the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands main campaign and PvP mode, including two new Future Soldier–inspired Ghost War PvP classes and a PvE mission, Operation Silent Spade. In Operation Silent Spade, Ghost Leader Scott Mitchell calls on Nomad and his team to help rookie John Kozak investigate a plot that links the Santa Blanca Cartel to a nuclear threat. The special challenge is playable solo or with up to four players in co-op.

Upon completing Operation Silent Spade, players will be rewarded with the Optical Camo Backpack, perfect for a stealth approach. In addition to the rewards for completing the challenge, players can further customize and arm their Ghosts with the Silent Spade Pack, which include a weapon and new customization items.

Special Operation 3 will also bring two new Ghost War PvP classes, Vanguard and Sharpshooter, inspired by Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Future Soldier characters. Vanguard uses sensor grenades to uncover and highlight hidden enemies in the area of effect to his team, while Sharpshooter charges his shots by using his Long Range Specialist ability, which at a full charge enables him to negate the effects of sway and bullet drop. In addition to two new classes, this update will also contain two new PvP maps, Lithium Mine and Outskirts.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands Year 2 Pass offers seven-day early access to the two new Ghost War classes starting December 11, along with one exclusive customization pack. Non-owners of the Year 2 Pass will be able to access the new Ghost War classes starting December 18.

Ada Wong Featured In New Resident Evil 2 Remake Trailer

Capcom has revealed at TGS 2018 a brand new trailer for the Resident Evil 2 Remake that will be out early next year. This new trailer gives us our first look at the remake’s version of the character of Ada Wong and other additional gameplay footage.

Capcom revealed more information about the new Resident Evil 2 Remake via a press release that was issued out today. You can read the details posted below.

Today at Tokyo Game Show, Capcom unveiled a new trailer for its hotly anticipated game Resident Evil 2, which offers gamers a completely fresh take on the classic survival horror masterpiece. Delve deeper into the gripping events taking over Raccoon City, and follow the journey of rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they begin to uncover what’s behind the terrifying zombie outbreak. As both Leon and Claire embark on their own campaigns independently, their collective experiences piece together a comprehensive story uncovering the malicious motives behind the nightmare engulfing the city, the truth behind the nefarious Umbrella Corporation, and the Birkin family’s role in the tragedy. The trailer also introduces some of the evil foes and potential allies that players can expect to encounter including the iconic series femme fatale Ada Wong, mysterious Annette Birkin and Chief Officer Brian Irons.”

Resident Evil 2 Remake will be released worldwide on January 25th, 2019 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Another small synopsis for the game can be seen below along with the brand new trailer.

Twenty years later, the new Resident Evil 2 sees the nightmare return, now with unprecedented levels of immersion as seen in last year’s acclaimed Resident Evil® 7 biohazard. With Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine powering a new photorealistic style, the characters themselves appear sharper than ever and the grotesque hordes of zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect. Zombies now react in real time as they take instant visible damage, making every bullet from the player count. Stunning lighting brings the familiar rooms and corridors of Raccoon City Police Department to new life. Players will feel they’re in the shoes of heroes Leon and Claire, terrified to step out of the light for fear of what flesh-eating nightmares might await them in the darkness.
